Price Hike
The prices of essentials are getting higher and higher day by day. It has already gone beyond control and it shows no sign of staying with the ability of common people. The result is the intensification of public sufferings. In a bid to keep the prices of essentials stable, the government proposed complete withdraw of customs duties on some daily commodities. It was expected that the prices would be lessened according to this measure. But no positive change is found here. The situation frustrates the consumers because it is still out of the reach of the fixed and lower income groups. If we want to solve this problem, we have to look into the causes and do the needful. Some people are hoarding the essential commodities with an ill motive and as a result there is break down in the supply. Smuggling and black marketing are also important factors that is the cause of price hike. People related to this crime must be punished. Shortage of supply is another cause of price hike. The government needs to monitor supply chain of essentials to improve the situation.

দ্রব্যমূল্যের ঊর্ধ্বগতি
প্রয়োজনীয় জিনিসের দাম দিন দিন বেড়েই চলছে। এরই মধ্যে এটি ধরাছোঁয়ার বাইরে চলে গিয়েছে এবং সাধারণ মানুষের এর সাথে পেরে ওঠার কোনো লক্ষণ দেখা যাচ্ছে না। জনগণের চরম ভোগান্তিই হচ্ছে এর ফলাফল। দরকারি জিনিসের মূল্য স্থির রাখতে সরকার কিছু নিত্য প্রয়োজনীয় দ্রব্যের উপর থেকে শুল্ক কর প্রত্যাহার করছে। আশা করা হচ্ছে যে, এই পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করার ফলে দাম কমে যাবে। কিন্তু এখানেও আশাব্যাঞ্জক পরিবর্তন নেই। ভোক্তাগণ এই অবস্থায় হতাশ কারণ মধ্য ও নিম্ন আয়ের লোকদের এটা ধরা ছোঁয়ার বাইরে। আমরা যদি এই সমস্যার সমাধান করতে চাই তাহলে আমাদেরকে এর কারণগুলো খুঁজে বের করতে হবে এবং প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করতে হবে। কিছু লোক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দ্রব্যাদিকে অসৎ উদ্দেশ্যে মজুদ করছে এবং যার ফলে সরবরাহ ব্যবস্থায় বাধা সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে। মূল্য বৃদ্ধির জন্য চোরাচালানি ও কালো বাজারি খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে। এই সমস্ত অপরাধের সাথে জড়িত লোকদের অবশ্যই শাস্তি দেওয়া উচিত। সরবরাহের অপ্রতুলতাও মূল্য বৃদ্ধির আরেকটি কারণ। এই অবস্থার উন্নতি ঘটাতে হলে সরকারের উচিত সরবরাহ ব্যবস্থার তদারকি করা।

c. Summarising:
The prices of essentials are rising high day by day resulting public sufferings. There are many reasons for price hike. Some people hoard the essential commodities and raise the prices. Some people are involved in smuggling goods to other countries while some others are involved is black marketing. To control the situation the government should punish the smugglers, the hoarders and the black marketers. The government should also monitor the supply chain essentials.
