The Importance of Library
The library occupies an important role in any educational institute. No ideal institute runs without a good library. A few books which we read as texts in our classes are not sufficient for total education. To widen our knowledge and to broaden our outlook, we must read many other useful books. A library can help us in many ways. In a library we come across “The mighty minds of old.” Moreover, by reading journals and periodicals we can know how the world is moving around us. Books also provide joy for us. They comfort us in sorrow and distress and often give proper lesson and message. They are our never failing friends. Therefore, a rich and well-organised library is an essential part of a school, college or university. In the words of Carlyle-“A true university of these days is a library of books.”
