Climate Change
Climate change is one of the most complex challenges of the century, affecting all countries, with the warming of the planet and changes in climatic patterns, densely populated countries with long coastal belts, like ours, are most vulnerable. Many people might face loss of life and property and become climate refugee as the sea level rises. These are the reasons why our Prime Minister demanded a special climate fund in the Commonwealth Conference. Bangladesh will bear the burnt of effects of climate change, especially, in our endeavours to overcome poverty, attain economic growth and ensure health for all. It is climatic change that threatens to undermine our achievements, erode our hard-earned gains and seriously weaken our development initiatives in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and all other areas of economy and bio-diversity activities related to income generation for reducing poverty.

শতাব্দীর জটিল সমস্যাগুলোর মধ্যে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন অন্যতম, যা গ্রহের উষ্ণতার সাথে সাথে সকল দেশকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত করছে এবং জলবায়ুগত অবস্থায় পরিবর্তন আনছে, যার ফলে আমাদের মতো ঘনবসতিপূর্ণ ও দীর্ঘ সমুদ্রোপকূলীয় দেশগুলো অরক্ষিত! অনেক লোক সম্পদ ও জীবননাশের সম্মুখীন হতে পারে এবং সমুদ্রের পানি বৃদ্ধির কারণে জলবায়ুগত শরণার্থী হতে পারে। এজন্যই কমনওয়েলথ সম্মেলনে আমাদের প্রধানমন্ত্রী একটি বিশেষ জলবায়ু সম্বন্ধীয় তহবিল গঠনের দাবি জানিয়েছিলেন। জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের পরিণতি বাংলাদেশকে সহ্য করতে হবে, বিশেষ করে, আমাদের দারিদ্র্য দূরীকরণের প্রচেষ্টায়, অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধি অর্জনে ও সবার জন্য স্বাস্থ্যসেবা নিশ্চিতকরণে। এ জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনই আমাদের সকল অর্জনকে দুর্বল করে দেয়ার হুমকিস্বরূপ, যা ধীরে ধীরে আমাদের কষ্টার্জিত অর্জনগুলোকে শেষ করে দিবে এবং কৃষি, বন, মৎস্য ও অন্যান্য অর্থনেতিক ক্ষেত্র এবং জীব-বৈচিত্র্যের কার্যক্রমসমূহ যা দারিদ্র্য হ্রাস করার লক্ষ্যে উপার্জন সৃষ্টির সাথে সম্পর্কযুক্ত এমন সব উন্নয়নমূলক পদক্ষেপকে মারাত্মকভাবে দুর্বল করে ফেলবে।

Ans: Summarising:
World’s climate is changing gradually which poses a great threat to all the countries of the world. Coastal areas of the low-lying countries will face immense losses. Many people will be rendered into homeless. Bangladesh will be badly affected owing to climate change. So special climate fund is a must to decrease the loss of life and property and to compensate for the victims.
