Part C — Composition (Marks — 30)

9. Write a paragraph on ‘The Duties of a Madrasah Student in the Society.’ (Marks 10)

The Duties of a Madrasah Student in the Society

A madrasah student occupies a distinctive and esteemed position in society, acting as both an intellectual ambassador of classical Islamic disciplines and an active contributor to community welfare. In a world undergoing rapid material transformation and ethical degradation, the responsibilities resting on the shoulders of a madrasah learner are multifaceted. First and foremost, a madrasah student must strive to attain profound mastery over the core sciences of the Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and Arabic literature, while concurrently acquiring contemporary general knowledge in modern languages, science, and information technology. Their prime duty is to reflect divine ethics through spotless personal character, honesty, modesty, and tolerance. In the broader social sphere, they are expected to guide the common people towards justice, moral rectitude, and mutual compassion, eradicating superstitions and sectarian animosity through gentle wisdom and profound scholarship. Furthermore, during times of societal crisis, such as natural calamities, economic hardships, and humanitarian disasters, madrasah students must lead social service, charitable distributions, and community welfare initiatives. By blending spiritual sincerity with modern competence, a madrasah student serves as an enlightened beacon of moral integrity and social progress.

10. Write an application to the Principal praying for arranging a study tour. (Marks 10)

22 October 2020
To
The Principal
Darul Ulum Kamil Madrasah
Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Subject: Application for permission and financial grant to arrange an educational study tour.

Sir,
We, the students of Fazil (Honours) First Year of your esteemed institution, beg most respectfully to state that we are keen to arrange an educational study tour to the historical and cultural landmarks of Bagerhat (Shat Gombuj Mosque) and the Sundarbans in the upcoming academic break.

Practical exposure to historical architecture, medieval Muslim inscriptions, and biodiversity is vital for broadening our academic perspective beyond classroom lectures. Such a tour will significantly enrich our understanding of Islamic archaeology, environmental stewardship, and Bengal history. A senior professor of our department has kindly agreed to guide and supervise us during the entire itinerary.

We, therefore, fervently pray and hope that your honour would be kind enough to grant us permission to organize this educational tour and sanction a suitable financial subsidy from the institutional excursion fund to make it successful.

We remain,
Sir,
Yours obediently,
The students of Fazil (Honours) 1st Year
Department of Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies.

11. Write a dialogue between you and your friend about the advantages and the disadvantages of Internet. (Marks 10)

A Dialogue on the Advantages and Disadvantages of Internet

Characters:
Arif: A student of Fazil Honours.
Tanvir: His close friend and classmate.

Arif: As-salamu alaykum, Tanvir! How are your exam preparations going?

Tanvir: Wa alaykumus salam, Arif. Alhamdulillah, they are progressing smoothly. I was just browsing the web to download research papers on Hadith terminology.

Arif: That is wonderful! The Internet has truly revolutionized how we access knowledge, has it not?

Tanvir: Absolutely! With just a few clicks, we can consult classical manuscripts in world libraries, participate in online scholarly forums, and communicate across continents instantly. It saves immense time and resources.

Arif: I completely agree with you regarding its tremendous advantages. Online learning platforms, global commerce, e-governance, and digital archives have made human life infinitely more efficient.

Tanvir: Yet, Arif, there is another side to this coin. Have you noticed how rampant digital distractions and internet addiction have become among youth?

Arif: Indeed. Excessive screen time leads to severe physical ailments, mental anxiety, and negligence of spiritual and academic responsibilities. Cybercrimes, identity theft, misinformation, and exposure to vulgar content pose grave threats to personal morality and societal peace.

Tanvir: You have touched the crux of the problem. Like a double-edged sword, the Internet can either build intellectual empires or ruin moral foundations depending entirely on how one employs it.

Arif: Exactly. We must cultivate digital self-restraint and discipline, utilizing this phenomenal technological marvel exclusively for beneficial, scholarly, and constructive purposes while resolutely shunning its perils.

Tanvir: Well spoken, Arif! May Allah grant us wisdom to use all resources productively. Thank you for this insightful discussion.

Arif: You are most welcome, Tanvir. Have a blessed day!
