9. Write a paragraph on ‘Victory Day’. (Marks: 10)

[৯. ‘বিজয় দিবস’ (Victory Day) শীর্ষক অনুচ্ছেদ রচনা করো:]

Victory Day

The 16th of December is a glorious, memorable, and red-letter day in the national history of Bangladesh, celebrated nationwide with profound solemnity and supreme patriotic fervor as Victory Day. On this historic day in 1971, the heroic people of Bangladesh achieved final victory after an agonizing nine-month-long bloody War of Liberation against the oppressive Pakistani occupation forces. The supreme sacrifice of three million valiant martyrs and the supreme honor of over two hundred thousand mothers and sisters paved the sacred path to this independence. On the afternoon of December 16, 1971, ninety-three thousand Pakistani soldiers unconditionally surrendered to the Joint Command of Bangladesh Mukti Bahini and Indian Allied Forces at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan (formerly Race Course Maidan) in Dhaka, marking the triumphant emergence of Bangladesh as a sovereign nation on the world map. The day begins with a thirty-one gun salute at dawn, followed by paying floral tributes at the National Martyrs’ Memorial at Savar. The national flag is hoisted atop all government, autonomous, and private buildings. Educational institutions, cultural organizations, and socio-religious bodies arrange seminars, symposia, and patriotic cultural programs to reminisce about the supreme sacrifices of the Freedom Fighters. Victory Day is not merely a day of jubilant celebration; it is a sacred day of national self-evaluation and solemn rededication. It inspires the younger generation to root out corruption, poverty, illiteracy, and communalism, and to strive tirelessly towards building a progressive, enlightened, self-reliant, and just society imbued with the core values of humanity, democracy, and equality.

10. Write an application to the principal of a Kamil Madrasah for a seat in the Madrasah hostel. (Marks: 10)

Date: 15 November 2020
To
The Principal
Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasah
Tongi, Gazipur.

Subject: Application for a seat in the Madrasah hostel.

Sir,
With due respect and humble submission, I beg to state that I am a regular bona fide student of the Fazil (Honours) First Year class in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at your renowned institution. My ancestral residence is located in a distant and remote rural village of Mymensingh district. Up to this point, I have been commuting daily from a far-off relative’s accommodation, which takes more than three hours each way by public transport.

This prolonged and hazardous daily journey is taking a severe toll on my physical health and academic focus. I frequently arrive late to classes and find it practically impossible to attend early morning lectures and evening study circles in the central library. Moreover, the exorbitant daily transport expenditure is becoming an intolerable financial burden on my elderly, low-income father. Under these circumstances, residing in the disciplined academic environment of the Madrasah hostel is indispensable for the uninterrupted continuation of my higher studies.

I, therefore, fervently pray and hope that your benevolent honour would be kind enough to allot me a vacant seat in the Madrasah hostel as early as possible, for which act of your administrative kindness I shall remain ever grateful.

I remain,
Sir,
Your most obedient pupil,
Muhammad Abdullah
Class: Fazil (Honours) 1st Year
Department of Arabic Language & Literature
Roll No: 1045, Session: 2019-2020.

11. Write a dialogue between you and your friend about the impact of ‘Face book’ in our society. (Marks: 10)

[১১. আমাদের সমাজে ‘ফেসবুক’-এর প্রভাব বিষয়ে তোমার এবং তোমার বন্ধুর মধ্যে একটি সংলাপ রচনা করো:]

A Dialogue on the Impact of Facebook in Our Society

Setting: A quiet lawn inside the Madrasah campus. Farhan and Adnan are discussing social media trends while holding their smartphones.

Farhan: Assalamu Alaikum, Adnan! What are you browsing on your mobile phone so intently?

Adnan: Wa Alaikumus Salam, Farhan! I am scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed. Actually, I was just pondering how profoundly Facebook has revolutionized the communicative landscape of our society.

Farhan: Indeed! Facebook has turned the entire world into an interconnected global village. Within seconds, we can share news, academic resources, Islamic reminders, and connect with people across continents.

Adnan: Absolutely. It has also emerged as a powerful platform for social activism, raising charity for distressed patients, and running small e-commerce businesses for young entrepreneurs without requiring large startup capital.

Farhan: True, those are undisputed benefits. But don’t you think the negative consequences of Facebook in our contemporary society are becoming equally alarming?

Adnan: You have raised a very valid point, Farhan. What specific hazards concern you most?

Farhan: First and foremost is severe digital addiction. Students waste countless valuable study hours mindlessly scrolling through frivolous reels and posts, leading to poor academic performance and sleep disorders. Moreover, rumors, disinformation, and hate speech often spread like wildfire on Facebook, causing social chaos and sectarian tensions.

Adnan: You are completely right. Furthermore, excessive immersion in the virtual realm isolates individuals from genuine, empathetic face-to-face familial interactions. Privacy breaches, cyberbullying, and fake profile harassment are also rampant.

Farhan: Exactly! Technology is essentially a double-edged sword. Its impact depends entirely on how consciously and ethically we choose to employ it.

Adnan: Well said, Farhan. We must practice strict temporal self-discipline, utilize Facebook constructively for educational collaboration and noble Da’wah, and filter out toxic negativity.

Farhan: I wholeheartedly agree with you, Adnan. Let us promise to make the best, responsible use of our time. It’s time for Zuhr prayer; let’s head to the mosque.

Adnan: Alhamdulillah, let’s go.
